Sunday School News
What are our children doing during the Sunday School hour? A two year old child remarked a while back after trying to comfort his baby sister, “ Me like Yesus (Jesus).” Our goal beginning with the youngest children is to demonstrate through stories, crafts, and creative play God’s love for everyone and then to demonstrate and talk about how each child can live this out. All our curriculum is biblically oriented and age appropriate with hands-on as well as conversational activities that help them apply Jesus’ life and teachings to their concerns and relationships.
We’re very grateful for our teachers who creatively and faithfully love and guide our children beginning at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. We divide our classes as follows:
KidZone (ages infant through Kindergarten): Carol Comer, Cindy Bell, Jean Griffith, Lori Detweiler.
Elementary (Grades 1-4): Elaine Miller, Pat
Middle School (Grades 6-8): Edie English
Senior High (Grades 9-12): Margaret Ruppert
Children in Worship (Grades 1-8): Elaine Miller, Ann McCord
Some of our kids come from homes where
there is regular spiritual nurturing, but some
of them come from homes that lack this. You
can help in this ministry by praying for our
teachers and kids and also by learning their
names and greeting them, if possible, by
name. This act affirms to them that she or he
is a unique and highly valued creation of God.
